cute!… but now what?

I stared at these Tokidoki brushes in my room yesterday… and I just can’t find a practical solution for them! I did try to use them for their intended purpose.  But yea I got these tiny Asian eyes? and a big eye shadow brush just won’t help me at all unless I’m going for the clown look that day… sooOOooo… now what??

First of all, I’d really like to know if I’m the only one who bought these brushes with this problem.  I seriously just got them on a whim.  For me, they are some what expensive too.  $35 for something I didn’t need.  But I didn’t listen to the rational me and bought them anyway.  They are just so damn adorable!

So after I reflected on my action, I realized that I actually do this quite often and buy stupid things that I have no use for.  Thus for hell of it, I decided to compile a list of things that I got not because of the functional aspect of it, instead the pure and innocent “C.U.T.E.” factor.  Enjoy! 🙂

Item 1: Everybody’s neighbor, TOTORO!! $5

So cute, right?! Yeah I mean that’s why I bought him.  I got this maybe like 5 years ago in Hong Kong during a sale.  This cuddly friend here is supposed to be a cellphone holder.  It baffles me why a cellphone needs to be held up in the upright position all. the. time!… but anyway, they do have these things around HK and Japan.

There’s an opening on its back but the slot is no where near big enough to hold my phone! (as you can see)

FAILED!!!

Item 2: Hello Kitty Plank $25

I bought this in Japan.  Its a Hello Kitty decorated plank/wooden fan.  Even from the sound of it, you know a wooden fan is just not going to work.  I knew that from the start, but that didn’t stop me! Seriously, I didn’t even bother putting it to use as you can tell by the transparent wrapper on it.  I do use it as decoration for my room so the wrapper keeps the dust off of the actual thing.  But boy, for the price I paid and the amount of utility? Totally unjustifiable.  Another item labeled as:

USELESS!!

Item 3: Hello Kitty chair foot warmers $6

Again, I don’t know why I bought this… because the chair in my room has 5 legs and wheels on it…. and as you can see, they really don’t do anything special to your chair other than attach a Hello Kitty head to its leg.  I actually regret buying this, but they are just so damn cute!! -_-;;

so, once again …

IMPRACTICAL!!

Item 4: Yukata $30

This is one of my many souvenirs from Japan.  I bought it at a UNIQLO store at the international airport (sadly, I don’t recall which one).  I don’t know where I got the idea that I’ll have a chance to wear a Yukata in North America, but I convinced myself that I will have use for this.  Yeah, completely wrong!  To this day, I still haven’t worn it.  I haven’t even tried it on yet!.  It’s pretty with its multicolored pokka dots, but no one is going to see you other than all the other dresses in my closet…  If anyone knows of an occasion where I can rock this, please let me know! But for now…. it’s…

STORAGE!!!

Item 5: Winnie the Pooh clips $1

Its face is so chubby!!! I wish it’s pinch-able.  Anyways, I thought these clips would be a great addition to my stationary supply.  However, after I opened the package and try to clip a small stack of paper together… I found that the clip is so small, it can literally only clip 2 pieces of paper together.  You see that small crack? I don’t understand how this was approved to be the final product.  The purpose of the clip is to hold things together.  Except, this cannot be used for more than a bookmark clipped onto one single thin sheet of paper in a book!  I was so disappointed with this… Though, maybe that’s why it was a dollar… I got what I paid for I guess…

POINTLESS!!!

So yeah, that’s all I got for today, trust me I got more of this… so next time!
